Today I start Lady Beware classes
Yesterday, I mentioned that I was not in the mood to deal with SEO. Today will not be an SEO day either, but for a different reason. In a few minutes I will be heading off to a self-defense class for women, held by our local sheriff’s department. I am very excited about starting it. It is called Lady Beware, and is a free weeklong class designed to help women deal with any potential problems they may face with an attacker.
Most often, women tend to not think much about self-defense. I know I used to be that way. Sure, you hear things in the news all the time, and maybe even know someone who has been attacked or kidnapped, but people have a tendency to think, “It will never happen to me”. I was a member of that group until I was 19 years of age, when I found out first-hand, that it can and did happen to me. Over 25 years later, I am finally taking a self-defense class. However, I have learned as much as I can on my own in the meantime, via books, television, etc. But that is not the same as one-on-one training. So I thank the sheriff’s department for sponsoring this event - for free. I hope all the women who attend learn valuable skills…and I hope they never need them.
