Local SEO tip: Use Craigslist

Jason Brown, of Marketing Opus, has an interesting article giving detailed specifics of how to use Craigslist to increase your local search advertising.

The article explains how to optimize your listings and list them in a way to draw traffic back to your site, without having your post flagged as spam. If you are involved in local search, this may be a nice way to garner increased traffic. Well worth reading.

For just a $5 tip, you can advertise your site or affiliate link on SEO Scoop. Find out how.

If you are the first to "discover" any of my posts in StumbleUpon, one of the following categories would probably be the most appropriate to place it into. You don't have to choose one of these, of course, but based on what I usually write about, there's a good chance any of my posts will fall into one of these categories.

Business * Computers * Computer Graphics * Computer Hardware * Computer Security * Databases * Ecommerce * Internet * Internet Tools * Linux/Unix * Marketing * Search * Self Improvement * Web development * Weblogs(Blogs) * Windows * Writing

That is a great article. I’ve used craigslist for years very successfully but not in that manner. In fact I’m scared to use it that way in my market for fear that competitors might see it and start using craigslist to get around the fact that they haven’t optimized.

Think I’ll test it in a near by market and see how it works. (hehe) Thanks for the heads up, Dazzlin! You got me all psyched with the heads up!!!!!!
