Finally made the switch to FeedBurner

by DazzlinDonna

This old dog is finally learning some new tricks. I’ve been resistant to switch my RSS feeds over to Feedburner because I didn’t want to have my feeds on another domain. But after reading Vanessa’s blog last night, I realized I’d missed an important thing…I could retain my feed url (sort of, via a redirect). And it was super simple too. I just had to install this FeedBurner plugin for Wordpress. It literally took less than 2 minutes. I then spent another 2 hours just playing with options at the FeedBurner site, but that’s not necessary. Anyway, if you’ve put off using FeedBurner because you didn’t like losing control over your feed url, put it off no longer. (As always, if you encounter any problems because of the change, let me know).

I’ve put off using Feedburner more because they make it very difficult for a novice to use. The video tutorial is a miniature screen video of a guy filling in an online form. Huh?

I could go on and on (and I did, over there), but I just found it far more difficult than it should have been.

I look forward to checking out your plugin.

Wow – that was easy. :)

Way easier than from Feedburner themselves.

It was easy, wasn’t it? :)

    DD,

Did you notice that your Pheedo has for the most part gone away? It appeared to at my blog, too.

Because our feeds are no longer accessed on our site, Pheedo can’t see the light of day.

    Or am I missing something?

They are still there. Click on the RSS feed link at the bottom of this page. Give it more than a few seconds to load the ads.

It shows there, but not in Bloglines. I wonder if all of your current subscribers who’ve subscribed via other services are unable to view the ads.

    rmmmrrrrmmrrrmmmrrrm……..

I see the ads in Bloglines too, so maybe it’s just you? Got some sort of adblocking thing going on?

lol… No, I don’t think so. Maybe someone just has it in for me.
