If you are a web developer, designer, SEO, or do anything web-related, you absolutely should be using Firefox simply because you can download and use some fabulously useful extensions (now called add-ons). Here are my 10 favorite Firefox add-ons, in order of each extension’s usefulness to me.
- AI Roboform Toolbar for Firefox - I’ve used Roboform for years, and I probably utilize it at least 50 times per day. I use the paid version so that I don’t have to worry about any limits being placed on how many sites’ login info I can store. I have hundreds and hundreds of items…

Ok, that title is a little sensationalist, I admit, but it wouldn’t surprise me either. Wired is letting people submit things they’ve found via the new Google maps feature, Street View, that um, maybe Google shouldn’t be photographing for all the world to see. If you live in a big city, where Google has been, be afraid. You may have been caught coming out of a strip club, picking your nose, or any of a number of other private things you didn’t really want to share with the entire world. You can also find some links over at Boing Boing, including…

Any good SEO will tell you that keyword research is your very first priority. There are several keyword research tools available. I’ve tried them all, and let you know what I think of them. Today I’m going to focus on what may be the best of the best. Wordze is one of the newest keyword research tools to hit the netwaves.* It’s less than a year old, but it has the flair of an old experienced SEO tool.
Wordze pretty much blows other tools right out of the water because it goes so much farther than any of the others that…

I noticed Jim’s article listed on seosem.corank.com curiously titled “Link Ninjas now throwing clocks, mugs & mp3 players“. Upon arriving at the post, I noticed the real title was “Jim Boykin: Deja Vu plus Swag and $720 in free ads.” and that made me even MORE curious. What’s Jim got going here? That’s a two part answer.
First, Jim updated his list of favorite posts, adding 11 more link-yummy articles that he’s written in the last year and a half. Not only does Jim qualify for being named King of Link Yummy Posts due to the quality content he’s written, but also…

If you don’t plan to compete with me in the SEO lyrics contest, then may I suggest you instead vote for my lyrics? The song is called DMCA, and it is a parody of course of the Village People’s YMCA. Since there are lyrics from other contestants that I believe are better than mine, the most I can hope for is either:
- the sympathy vote
- the “you owe me one” vote
- or the “Wouldn’t DazzlinDonna look hysterical singing that?” vote
So, if any of those reasons work for you, then please click the little 5 stars on my lyrics page, and go bookmark it…

Just noticed that Facebook now has a marketplace, which is described this way:
Sell your stuff. List what you need. Browse friends’ listings.
So, it’s a Craigslist / Google Base competitor? But only within Facebook networks? That’s what it sounds like to me anyway. You don’t have to actually be a member of a network to view the listings, but you do have to at least choose a network to view listings from.
I suppose if your site can be marketed well in Craigslist or Google Base, then Facebook Marketplace is now yet another way for you to get the word out.

I just stumbled across a site listing SEO related classifieds, which after scanning through the handful that were listed, equates to scammers selling themselves as SEO experts. Regardless of that, however, I got a chuckle out of one of the ads, which reads:
ADVANCE OPTIMIZATIN TECHNIQUES
Description: Let me scan your website for ways to improve your coding like page title, meta tags and content.
According to the on-pages stats, that ad has been viewed 223 times. I certainly hope those 223 people understand enough about SEO to know what is and what isn’t “advanced”.

Smackdown has outlined how Google is displaying your PPC ads on porn-related parked domains. How well do you think those clicks convert for you? And yet, you are paying for those clicks. Considering that Google does not allow Adsense publishers whose sites are porn-related to display Adsense ads, why is that a parked domain with an obvious porn-related domain name can? This is just another example of why so many Adwords advertisers opt out of the content network. Go read the Smackdown post, as it details the problem nicely. And then tell Google that you don’t want them to waste your…

SEOish interviewed seven “big guns” of SEO to ask how they would market a site on just $100. (Actually, the question really involved $100, $250, or $500). While each of the SEOs gave some interesting answers, it was Andy Beal’s quote, “Not a lot you can do with $100″, that caused me to write this post. And there was at least the hidden implication that many of the guys probably felt the same way, but they didn’t actually say it out loud.
My response (had I been asked) would have been, “What? Doesn’t everyone market a site on $100 or less.…

I’m only going to discuss this once. Why? Because it seems that no matter how many times I try to get people to listen to me when I mention this topic, they don’t really hear me. So I won’t waste my breath. Those of you who do listen this one time, however, are the smart ones.
ByLinks. That’s the term I’ve coined for this link building strategy, and it’s one that can be the quickest, easiest, and cheapest way to obtain a huge number of backlinks from a wide variety of sources, in a completely legitimate manner. ByLinks refers to any…
