Making the case for utilizing social media

Social media is influencing and impacting business results in incredible ways. Some businesses are finally beginning to understand this and are starting to ask how they can use social media to drive positive results. Cymfony has released an interesting, free white paper that does a good job of outlining the enormous impact that social media is having. For example, they note that 24% of online car shoppers have changed their mind about a vehicle purchase based on social media. That’s a pretty astounding statistic, I think. So, what do car dealers do to have an impact on that? How do they get their brand out in front of the social media crowd?

If you are having a difficult time getting your boss to understand the importance of participating in this marketing evolution, grab a copy of the white paper so that you can get some other snippets, statistics, and soundbites to use as leverage. It is important for businesses to explore how to use social media and marketing strategies so that they can understand and engage their audiences. If you aren’t playing in the game, you cannot hope to influence its outcome.

UPDATE: This white paper is no longer available. Sorry if you missed it.

If you are the first to "discover" any of my posts in StumbleUpon, one of the following categories would probably be the most appropriate to place it into. You don't have to choose one of these, of course, but based on what I usually write about, there's a good chance any of my posts will fall into one of these categories.

Business * Computers * Computer Graphics * Computer Hardware * Computer Security * Databases * Ecommerce * Internet * Internet Tools * Linux/Unix * Marketing * Search * Self Improvement * Web development * Weblogs(Blogs) * Windows * Writing

Sorry, deCabbit. I didn’t realize it was limited in number of downloads, or I would have saved one and snuck it off to you. ;) I apologize. From now on, I’ll find out if something I link to is time or number limited, and I’ll be sure to note that in the post.
