Trading a link for an invite – Is bartering the same as paying?

I wonder if the following link would be considered a paid link? You see, I’m trading, as in bartering for an invitation by giving a link to Reuben. So does that count as a paid link or not? Hmmm…

    Hi Donna , i know you don’t have much spare time on your hands , but please read this as i am not going to waste too much of your time .
    I am conducting a study in which i want to underline the idea of how much fun do big blog owners have .
    Taking that a step further , it’s actually a study about how much spare time bloggers have and if the y have enough time to party and have fun as much as non-bloggers do .
