Google’s Lies, Omissions, and Missteps
Aaron Wall has been all over Google like white on rice. His latest post, 7 Useful Webmaster Tools Google Stole From You, rakes Google over the coals for being “an intentional deceitful organization”. He then proceeds to list 7 tools that Google took away from us in their quest to be deceitful.
Personally, while I don’t disagree with Aaron, what frustrates me even more sometimes is their ability to just royally screw things up. Despite the incredible amount of braincells they have working for them, they are 10 times more likely to write bad code and actually break things than any of their lesser-brained rivals. I’m starting to think Google should fire half of their smartest employees, and replace them with high school dropouts.
Today’s latest example of their incredible ability to break things? Feedburner. Google bought a wonderful service and today they broke it. Smackdown has the screenshots to prove it.
Google breaks things alot, whether it’s Adwords, Analytics, the webmaster console, Gmail, or just the rankings themselves, something seems to always be broken. And their shares cost how much again? Are people absolutely CRAZY?

I sometimes really wonder what is going on over there. Though I wonder less now that I’ve been to the Google dance and have seen all the cool toys they have.
We have some really old AdWords accounts that are supposed to be auto-billed to a credit card at the end of each month. Every month we get emails saying that they are deliquent. Every month we call in and they tell us that credit card billing is “impossible.” Every month they promise to fix it for the following month.

Jon, that’s exactly the kind of thing that makes me crazy. How is it possible that the greatest minds in the world can’t handle that? I swear, the smarter they get, the stupider they get.
Salman, sorry, but I had to edit your url because it was way too long. But I used tinyurl, and it still goes to your post.
