Donna you're a muse and Michael is a genius. It really doesn't get any easier than what this tool offers. Now, if search bots ever start parsing javascript there might be an issue, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

But if they do... Here's what I would suggest doing just in case. When you upload that javascript file to your server, be sure to put it into a folder that you keep just for these scripts (i.e. /scripts/). Also, don't forget to add that folder in the code that the tool gives you (i.e. /scripts/myscr...).

Now disallow the scripts folder in your robots.txt and you're double-safe. Again, I don't see the parsing of java on Google's radar any time soon, but it's good to think ahead.

And thanks for the compliment above. The only time I've ever heard "People like Everett Sizemore..." used in a sentence was from a teacher or a judge - and neither was a good thing. ;-)

[...] If for some reasons you don’t want to detect crawlers, or it makes sound sense to hide ads from other Web robots too, you could encode your JavaScript ads. This way you deliver totally and utterly useless gibberish to anybody, and just browsers requesting a page will render the ads. Example: any sort of text or html block that you would like to encrypt and hide from snoops, scrapers, parasites, or bots, can be run through Michael’s Full Text/HTML Obfuscator Tool (hat tip to Donna).
For what, Clint? I mean, yes, obviously if you did this with your entire page's content, that would certainly destroy your rankings for that page. Definitely DON'T do that. This is intended for maybe a couple of affiliate links, or a short blurb of text, or something like that, but not your entire content. Ouch! That would be brutal.
