New Social Alerter Tool Released

by DazzlinDonna

eKstreme has finally released his Social Alerter tool. I beta tested it several months ago and thought it rocked, so I’m happy to see it available to the public. What is it? It is a tool that monitors the upcoming lists at Digg and del.icio.us and alerts you via email if the site you are tracking is about to be inundated with traffic from these sources. Ever made the front page of Digg? How’d your server hold up? Did it crash? Chances are, it did, making your front page Digg experience less than joyful. With a heads up, you can be prepared. Running WordPress? You’ve got time to turn wp-cache on. Whatever methods you might use to keep the server running are useless if you don’t know the tidal wave of users are coming.

Sign up (it’s free) to Social Alerter, tell it what sites to track (yours or your competition’s), and relax knowing that you’ll be informed when something big is coming your way. You can get all the details on how it works, and what it can be used for at the Social Alerter details page.

    Thanks for that Donna!

This is only the start of many more things to come on the site. There are features planned for the next few months. I won’t say what though ;)

    Cheers,
    Pierre

  2. Thanks for the tip. I may need to follow your advice soon.

It is sound like an interesting idea but I afraid that it is not the best marketing tool to achieve information. For me it seems like a tool which webmasters can use for entertainment only.

I think you misunderstand its purpose Sergey. It’s not a marketing tool, nor is it only for entertainment.

It alerts you so that you can be prepared for a large influx of traffic from sites like Digg…so you can keep your server from crashing.

Thank you Donna, now I see… I kind of thought that it is another tool which provides statistic about how popular website in social media.
