Catching Up With SEOsFightFat.com

by DazzlinDonna

SEOs have officially been fighting fat for charity for a month now, and that means we are halfway to the end goal. Where do we stand?

Judging by the recent blog posts, I think most of us are at a crossroads in our weight loss plans. Many of us seem to be wavering back and forth between losing and gaining, and we end up being a bit stuck at our current weight. Much of that may be because we’ve all been leading some hectic lives lately. Some have been traveling and attending conferences; others have been launching products and sites; and still others have been sick and unable to exercise.

We’re in a slump, folks, and we need your help.

More than ever, we need your encouragement and your support. Read our blogs as we struggle; subscribe to our feeds; comment on our posts. Let us know you are cheering us on. Motivation is something we all need to keep going.

In addition, we could really, really, really use your pledges. At the end of this thing, we may all be a few pounds lighter, but the real goal is to raise money for a worthy charity. We aren’t doing all that great a job of making that happen.

Sure, the sitewide 125×125 ad blocks are kind of pricey, but they are meant to be corporate sponsorships. You know, like the Googles of the world, who can easily afford a $2000 pledge. Unfortunately, Google is the only one who has agreed to a sitewide pledge so far. Thanks Google! It would be really great to get at least one more.

And yes, even the individual fat fighters 125×125 ad blocks are a bit pricey, at $500. But again, these are meant to be pledges from some of the smaller corporations out there – like all you big name SEO companies. You know who you are. ;) Jennifer has done a great job of getting her own private sponsorships (rock on Jenn), but the rest of us poor slobs have no one backing us. If you own a company that can afford to sponsor one of us for $500, please consider doing so.

But that doesn’t leave everyone else out. Everyone else can pledge as little as $20 to be listed on the Friends page. This is where everyone can really help us out.

If we know that our charity of choice has a chance of getting some really great donations at the end of this thing, we’ll work harder to make that happen. With your encouragement, comments, support, motivation, and pledges, we can get out of the slump we’re in. I really believe that.

lolfatsOh, and by the way, I wanted to give a shout out to Elizabeth, who is definitely doing her part in cheering us on. She’s even willing to dye her hair green, or pink, or some crazy color to help us out. And have you checked out her LOLfats, er, LOLcats pics that she’s making for SEOsFightFat? It’s pretty funny stuff. Rumor has it that she’s got some kind of challenge up her sleeve. :)

If you want to subscribe to an individual’s fat fighter RSS feed, simply go to the About page, and click on the little orange RSS icons next to each person’s name.

Hoping to see more of you around. We need you. Really.

Did I mention that anyone who donates $20 or more will be entered into a drawing to win a 1 year subscrption to http://www.internetmarketingninjas.com

  2. Donna, Jim, is there a list somewhere of incentives like Jim’s generous offer? Drawings for side offers could make for some fun fundraising.

Oh, that’s right, Jim! C’mon people, this is a great opportunity to win a HUGE prize.

Elizabeth, I think Jim’s is the only side offer.

  4. Roger Carr says:

I especially like the added fundraising incentive of someone willing to dye her hair a crazy color.
