All In One SEO Pack Plugin for WordPress No Longer Supported or Maintained
Anyone know when the All in One SEO Pack plugin went belly-up? I recently noticed it now says this:
This plugin is no longer supported or maintained.
Does anyone know the plugin author, uberdose? Anyone know why he’s no longer supporting or maintaining it? Anyone want to try to get him to allow someone to take the project over? It’s a nice plugin, and I hate to see it go bye-bye.
I know it still works, but that may not always be so in the future. I would think it would need someone looking after it to keep it updated as needed.

That’s most unwelcome news, Donna. That is an excellent plugin and I often recommend it to others. Let’s hope someone picks up the ball. I believe it’s a valuable online asset.

This has been my hangup for years, but I reckon the answer is, the guy just didn’t have time, In a world were we want everything for free it sometimes pays to pay .. lol

Agh! That was one of those plugins that I knew I needed, and I knew I didn’t have to/want to mess with it because of the learning curve related to SEO.
Ouch. Anyone know of possible alternatives?

Thanks for the update. I’m disappointed, too. I finally got my blog setup with All-in-One a couple months ago. However, after seeing Stephan Spencer at SMX Advanced, I wished I would have gone with NetConcepts’ SEO Title Tag Plugin:

He mentioned they have updated it for WordPress 2.5, AND you can do mass edits of posts for keywords. After seeing his demo, I was having “buyer’s remorse” for having gone with All-in-One, even though I love it. Time to switch

wow, that’s a surprise since it’s so popular. leaves the door open for one of the others to step up. i know i have seen others and even tried another, will have to explore a bit again i guess.

Ive been using it on my blog and even since I installed it Im getting some good long tail search traffic. It taught me a lot about search engine optimization lol

Whew… I was hesitant to post too much until I figured how to convert from All-in-One to Netconcept’s SEO Title plugin. I’ll save that for a new blog.
Thank you for providing such a great resource, Donna, and a place to allow us to get such great info. This is valuable!

I’ve installed it on a few Wordpress 2.5 sites and it seems to still work, however I don’t customize it too much. I haven’t tried it out on 2.6 yet, but I’m hoping it should work just fine.

I’m a real enthusiast about this plugin and find it extremely effective in making posts very search engine visible. It’s now working well on all three of my blogs that are upgraded to Wordpress v. 2.6 so there should not be any concerns on that score.

Are you sure about this? I went to the developers website and there is no mention of the plugin being unsupported or discontinued.
I for one would hat to see it go, anything that makes blogging life easier is tops with me:-)
And your right DaveN it does pay to pay sometimes. There are many good developers out there who donate their know how and time and don’t ask for anything in return except maybe a mention or a ‘plug’ somewhere(no pun intended).
If it is true then maybe those of us who take advantage of the many excellent pluggins and themes will think about donating something, Hey I can certainly afford $5.00.
If you can afford to buy a computer, pay for internet access and pay for webhosting I’m fairly certain you can afford to donate $5.00.
Well that’s my take on that
