Steven Bradley: Search Blogger of the Day
This is one of a series of posts in which I will be highlighting each member of the Search Bloggers list, with commentary on one of their posts (new or old). Look for this series to continue once or twice a week for the next couple of months.
Meet Steven Bradley, the Search Blogger of the Day. You might know him best as the guy who creates killer ‘This Month In SEO’ roundup link lists. And of course, he doesn’t just dump a bunch of links on a page; he gives a nice summary explaining why the links are listed. But I’m not here to highlight any of the roundup posts, as excellent as they always are. Nope, today, I want to highlight his recent Geeks Are Still Relevant In Modern SEO post. This post is a rebuttal to another that argues that SEO is moving away from the world of the search geek and towards the world of the social networker. Steven, while agreeing with the central theme, decides to “defend my geeky brethren and point out why search geeks are just as relevant to SEO as they always have been and why coding is still an important seo skill.”
Coming from the background of a geeky coder myself, I was happy to read this one. He makes the point that it’s never an all-or-nothing situation. Well-rounded skills…marketing and technical both…are pretty darn handy to have in the SEO world. Go read it for yourself to see if you agree or not.
If you want to know more about today’s Search Blogger of the Day, check out Steven’s about page.
That’s the Search Blogger of the Day. If you are a search blogger, and aren’t on the list yet, go here to find out how to be included. I plan to promote everyone on the list in various ways. Some will be informative, and some will be just plain fun. Don’t miss out.
For just a $5 tip, you can advertise your site or affiliate link on SEO Scoop. Find out how.
If you are the first to "discover" any of my posts in StumbleUpon, one of the following categories would probably be the most appropriate to place it into. You don't have to choose one of these, of course, but based on what I usually write about, there's a good chance any of my posts will fall into one of these categories.

Wow! Thanks Donna. Here I am enjoying a lazy weekend day only to come across nice things being said about me. Unexpected, but very much appreciated.
Thanks too for being someone who gives back to the community. We work and play in a community that talks a lot about giving, but not everyone backs up the talk. You’ve always been someone who does and I know that’s appreciated beyond myself. Thanks again.

I’ve enjoyed reading Steven’s work for quite a while now, especially his regular “This Month in SEO” posts. He’s a smart guy and doesn’t mind sharing his insight with others. Seems, too I’m always running into his posts wherever I go.

It’s funny to see some of my favorite peeps here in one spot. Donna you definitely are a giver as are Steven, Dave and Emory. I admire all of you and applaud your efforts.
Your Search Blogger of the Day is a great idea and I’m thinking of stealing it in part to highlight sem training on the web. Maybe SEM Trainer of the Day? Is that okay?
