Kandace Hudspeth: Search Blogger of the Day

This is one of a series of posts in which I will be highlighting each member of the Search Bloggers list, with commentary on one of their posts (new or old). Look for this series to continue once or twice a week for the next couple of months.

Meet Kandace Huspeth, the Search Blogger of the Day. Today I’d like to highlight a post called Search and Social Media. I chose this one primarily because Kandace has been lax in updating the blog lately (hint, hint, Kandace), and this one was the latest search post I found. But that’s ok, because this post has some interesting information in it that I didn’t know. In it, Kandace talks about some kind of study that was done that shows how the various search components (site content, articles, blogs, news, images, video and RSS) and the social community aspects (social bookmarking, networking, shopping, social sites) interact in today’s search landscape. What percentage of each is important? Check out the blog post and discuss. Oh and Kandace…how ’bout some updates? ;)

If you want to know more about today’s Search Blogger of the Day, check out Kandace’s about page.

That’s the Search Blogger of the Day. If you are a search blogger, and aren’t on the list yet, go here to find out how to be included. I plan to promote everyone on the list in various ways. Some will be informative, and some will be just plain fun. Don’t miss out.

For just a $5 tip, you can advertise your site or affiliate link on SEO Scoop. Find out how.

If you are the first to "discover" any of my posts in StumbleUpon, one of the following categories would probably be the most appropriate to place it into. You don't have to choose one of these, of course, but based on what I usually write about, there's a good chance any of my posts will fall into one of these categories.

Business * Computers * Computer Graphics * Computer Hardware * Computer Security * Databases * Ecommerce * Internet * Internet Tools * Linux/Unix * Marketing * Search * Self Improvement * Web development * Weblogs(Blogs) * Windows * Writing

I just read Kandace Huspeth’s article and she is right of course, social media is everything nowdays, above all in the Internet. At the beginning internet was just a mere place where to read and get stuff from. Today is much more. It is a place to get in contact with other people, join in some community or create your own community and lately, a place where companies and activities can increase their popularity!

Quite true, it’s a good chunk. I’m not sure I would have put it at 50/50 as the study did…not quite yet anyway.

In my opinion social media has a high commitment associated to it.

But I’d rather just start and go minimal instead of not doing anything at all.. And I’m trying! :)
