Listen to Your People

December 23, 2009 by Megan Slick · 1 Comment

Have you lost touch? A question we should all ask ourselves during the holidays. Just kidding. Must be the copious amounts of wrapping paper, ribbons and cards talking. I’m not jaded…What I mean is have you lost touch with your customers? Do you know any of your customers or are you holed up in some brick and glass building away from humanity? If this is indeed where you are, it is no wonder you have lost touch. Break FREE!

December 22, 2009 by Ben McKay · Comments Off

Personalisation and real-time have been seriously big topics in SEO and social media news in recent weeks.  Prior to Google’s recent real-time search results announcement, my interest in real-time search was beginning to wane, as although it was en vogue and certainly cool technology, there was rarely any real industry-changing news.  This release though, has got me interested in it all over again – if it retains its influence in the SERPs then this could indeed be a game changer.  Here though, I’m going to consider the ramifications of ignoring this area of search for big brands and those looking to grow.

Let the Christmas shopping begin. Tis the season for hopelessly looking for the perfect present and feeling like you’ll never find it. It’s a difficult time of year but you could put the cheer back into your customer’s holiday season. Many corporations are doing this very thing. Take Urban Outfitters for example. They have a list of gifts for guys, a list of gifts under $50, a stocking stuffer list, they even have a gift list for personality types!

What does my perfect SEO training scheme look like?

November 24, 2009 by Ben McKay · 7 Comments

I’ve been in the fortunate situation lately where Mediaedge:cia Manchester has been recruiting a number of SEO’s lately. On the back of this, we thought it best to formalise the training for each new-starter in order to aid the induction process and provide additional training. 8 Utilities to Track Keyword Rankings

November 3, 2009 by Will Reinhardt · 5 Comments

One of the more tedious tasks in my monthly routine is preparing keyword ranking reports. While I enjoy analyzing the numbers and discovering how well our clients have (hopefully) improved over the past 30 days, actually collecting those numbers is a chore I don’t relish. If I can pay a few dollars to have a service perform this task on my behalf, I’m all for it.
