That’s true that it suggests the long tail keywords too which are more relavent and having higher number of searches etc.

But, interestingly the trend may not be the same and the search trend will keep changing from day by day or hour by hour which you can find the latest Google trends at http://www.google.com/trends to know what’s been searched more today.

I’ve started to use Google Suggests to come up with some longer keyphrases. You’re right is has changed the way people use Google, this is going to lead to more niche search terms rather than general ones. This is great for the user. Though, if I optimise a site for “car insurance”, won’t it come up for “car insurance for young drivers” anyway?

I have noticed the google will shake things up every month or so and slightly change the suggestions they offer. I take screenshots to help explain fluctuations in traffic (paid and organic)

I thought about this when Google Suggest first came out, but kept forgetting to take advantage of it.
