There’s a new Search jobs portal in town. Well, actually, it’s way across the big pond from me, over there in London, I think, but it serves the UK, USA and Canada, so that’s local enough for me! Paul Griffiths contacted me to let me know that SEO Vacancies Ltd. has launched an SEO, PPC and SEM jobs and careers portal for the Search Engine and New Media Industry.

SMS Crossword Puzzle

puzzleMore than a year and a half ago, I first got excited about a print magazine that was going to debut just for us – Search Marketing Standard. Several editions later, I wanted to celebrate this great little magazine by following its lead. In this last edition (Fall 2007), SMS published a crossword puzzle near the back of the magazine. I thought it would be fun to emulate this, so I created a crossword puzzle that uses words and phrases pulled directly from the last 3 editions of SMS. You can probably guess at some of them, but others might require that you actually have the magazine in front of you. If you haven’t been a subscriber to the magazine since at least the Spring 2007 edition, you might not be able to get all of the answers right.

Why do we accept low conversion rates?

Regardless of the type of website you have, when your site visitor takes the action you designed for them to take, a conversion occurs. In the case of an e-commerce website, a conversion happens when a customer places an order. On a lead generation website, the conversion happens when the customer fills a contact form. When a visitor subscribes to an RSS feed on a blog, a conversion happens.

Search Marketing Standard Winter issue coming soon

Search Marketing Standard, the print magazine that debuted this year, will be sending out its Winter issue next week. It is going to include articles by some well-known names, including Garrett French, Eric Ward, Kevin Gold, and Rand Fishkin, and it will be covering major new trends, such as Social Search, Mobile Search as well as targeting the Hispanic market. I’ve enjoyed the first two issues, and am looking forward to this one.

SEO Blog Search

I don’t know about you, but there are so many times I’ve forgotten where I’ve read an interesting post and it takes me forever to find it.
