Kate Morris: Search Blogger of the Day

by DazzlinDonna

This is one of a series of posts in which I will be highlighting each member of the Search Bloggers list, with commentary on one of their posts (new or old). Look for this series to continue once or twice a week for the next couple of months.

Meet Kate Morris, the Search Blogger of the Day. Today I’d like to highlight a post entitled Fear and Paid Linking. Oh, hey, there’s that controversial topic again – paid links. This time, however, we get to think about it in a different way because Kate explores the fear behind paid linking, including both the fear of Matt Cutts and the fear of link brokers. Kate steps in with a little common sense and that’s what much of the discussion should revolve around, imo. So, what about you? How scared are you? Go talk with Kate and her readers to join the discussion on what there is to fear – and what there isn’t.

If you want to know more about today’s Search Blogger of the Day, check out Kate’s about page.

That’s the Search Blogger of the Day. If you are a search blogger, and aren’t on the list yet, go here to find out how to be included. I plan to promote everyone on the list in various ways. Some will be informative, and some will be just plain fun. Don’t miss out.

I’ve put a lot of thought into this (I should probably get lunch too!) and I don’t see how link buying/selling is not unethical.

It’s a hard fact to face. But it’s up to each person to make that decision.

Is whitehat or ethical SEO even viable? If you have a large following, or a lot of building power maybe. Otherwise?

  2. SEO Midget says:

I disagree. Link buying is inethical.

  3. Dennis Edell says:

There are 10’s of things to do to get the results you want..why risk one or two? Just not worth it…

  4. Although inethical, many people are doing this.

  5. DazzlinDonna says:

Heh, I’m going to have to find the dictionary where people are finding new meanings for the word “ethical”.

  6. web hacks says:

i dont think it is inethical. after all we are talking about business here, and as long as people duying or selling links dont harm anybody, well, it is ok for me
